As announced during the month of June on our Facebook Fan Page “Colours of London” our Ugliest Room Competition winner was Julie McBride of London Ontario. In fact, Julie had decided that her room and apartment in general were ugly enough that she was moving on out! Julie is moving to a larger apartment with turn of the century woodwork, the original fireplace, and stained glass windows. The prior landlord last had the apartment painted using gloss paint on the entire unit. We were told that these walls were quite uneven and the apartment was of the age and vintage(a century home) to have been constructed using lath and plaster.
Shiny paint on lath and plaster walls?! Yikes! Every surface imperfection would be screaming out, every roll in the lath and plaster accentuated, every patch jumping out at you. Our Color & Design Centre on Dundas St E. decided that instead of supplying Julie what was needed to transform an ugly room, we would supply all of her paint needs to transform the entire apartment!
We will be publishing an entire array of before and after pictures once Julie has moved in. For now though, we will tell you what colours and finishes Julie and our design team picked out for her new pad!

We are anxiously awaiting the before and after pictures, but have received messages from Julie telling us…![image[1]](http://www.colorcompany.ca/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/image1-150x150.jpg)
” OMG it looks amazing. ”
” The yellow(Desert Tan) for the halls has really opened it up and the place is so much brighter.”
” The finish is wonderful and it’s hiding so many of the imperfections.”
Stay tuned and watch for the pictures!
